Position Overview:

The Legal function at Replicon offers the opportunity of working on challenging assignments which hold the potential for enormous learning and growth. Replicon is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual with at least 2+years of experience handling assignments relating to employment and labor laws with minimal supervision, to join its growing Legal department. The candidate will have a good academic background and excellent proficiency in written verbal communication. The Associate / Sr. Legal Associate will be responsible for understanding the scope of operations of the company and conducting in-depth research on the various employment and labor laws applicable on a global scale governing the usage of the companys products. In addition, the he/she will also be required to assist on commercial contracts, on an end to end basis, as part of the ongoing business of the company, as and when required.

Key Responsibilities:

The Associate /Sr. Legal Associate will be responsible for understanding the nuances, interpret, simplify and assist in preparation of a Compliance Database on a global scale including understanding, tracking and ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local, code compliance rules, ordinances, regulations.
Candidate will be expected to have worked on domestic labor laws especially around employment laws. Candidates with exposure to compliance related work on a global scale are desirable.
Responsible for ensuring that the Compliance Database is kept updated on a proactive basis as and when there is a change in the applicable laws.
Demonstrate effective research skills and the ability to prepare research memos using the latest online resources available including liaising with external law firms and lawyers as and when required.
Ability to work in a global cross-functional team environment, including Product and Sales teams as well as customers representatives.
The Associate/ Sr. Legal Associate will also be expected to assist the internal customer facing teams in explaining the various nuances surrounding the Compliance Database so that the customer has a clear understanding of the compliance database offered by Replicon as part of its service offering.
Good knowledge of commercial contract laws with sound analytical, drafting, negotiation and communication skills is also desirable.
Strong English language communication skills written and oral
Skilled in using Microsoft Office and other software relevant to legal function including online databases both domestic as well as international.

Desired Candidate Profile

Law Degree from an accredited university
Experience in using internet resources for legal research and including online databases
Legal Compliance experience including exposure to international labor and employment laws will be an added advantage
Experience working in a multi-national company and dealing with labor laws around the world is a plus.
