The Markit Corporate Actions service is a best- in- class centralized source of validated corporate action announcements for nearly three million equities, fixed income, and structured finance securities across global markets. MCA services customers as a single source that streamlines operations for the collection, validation and dissemination of corporate actions. Position Summary:
The Markit Corporate Actions (MCA) Business Analyst candidate should have excellent organizational, coordination and both written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with teammates across roles, levels, global locations, and with external clients. This role requires leading requirements gathering from analysts and stakeholders across product, operations, and technical functions and around the globe, documenting business and functional requirements, visualized mock- ups, use cases, user stories, epics, and test plans. Additionally, a key responsibility of the Business Analyst role is to manage the product enhancement queue by keeping it up to date and coordinating among decision makers to ensure it is prioritized in line with the business strategy, customer requests, and the product and operational roadmaps.
The candidate should preferably have prior corporate actions domain knowledge and several years of related experience. The candidate is expected to work closely with the Business, Product Management, Operations, Development and QA teams and individuals at all levels based locally as well as in Singapore, London, New York and Dallas to deliver product enhancements and system changes.
Understand the business requirements from the product team, business sponsors, and the operations team along with understanding system capabilities from Development and QA leads and other key stakeholders
Gather, analyze and document detailed business and functional requirements. Obtain sign- off on requirements from functional stakeholders across the globe
Document requirements in the form of visualized mock- ups, use cases, user stories
Manage prioritization of enhancements, system fixes, client/ product/ operational requests
Define project/ release scope, obtain development and QA estimates by working with project manager on the overall project plan
Work closely with development and QA to ensure implementation meets requirements and mitigate risks in overall project execution to enable completion of project per committed scope
Review test cases from QA team, conduct demos for end users, participate and monitor the UAT
Address client issues and escalated queries; participate in external calls/ meetings with clients when required. Raise issues and requests from client service team, sales, or directly from clients with product managers.
Address billing issues, reconcile vendor invoices, work with Finance team to resolve billing related issues.
Brainstorm and innovate solutions and new ideas to achieve efficiencies and new functionality to improve system usability, save cost, and increase revenue
Working towards Bachelors degree or Masters in the field of management or technology

Interest in the product development life- cycle (both waterfall model and agile), databases/ SQL, MS Office
Good understanding of financial instruments
Strong technical acumen
Strong research and analytical skills
Ability to ask pointed questions to gather important information
Superb written and verbal communication skills to articulate business requirements in a manner that can be clearly understood by varying audiences across development, QA, project management, product management and operations colleagues
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills required
Open minded and flexible; ability to reconcile among various perspectives and willing to adapt to evolving situations in a fast paced environment
